All across Europe, it seems that the pews are empty but the pubs are full. Only 2 percent of the population attends church on any given Sunday. Churches where evangelists such as D.L. Moody once preached have been converted to taverns, theaters and apartment complexes. Churches that once declared Christ’s gift of salvation are now being converted into Islamic mosques. But God has not given up on Europe! Vibrant Assemblies of God churches are being planted and people’s lives are being changed with the gospel. We must continue to pray and support the work being done in Europe as God brings revival to this area of the world.

Lakeview’s Missions Funds at Work

  • Lakeview gives $4,000 in monthly support to 17 missionaries.
  • In 2004 and 2006, Lakeview’s Worship & Creative Ministries made trips to The Netherlands where the team was enthusiastically received.
  • Lakeview is a major supporter of the team planting an international church in Hilversum, Netherlands. The team includes 7 people with Lakeview ties.
  • The Hilversum church has been asked to consider “mothering” a new congregation in Almere, Netherlands (the fastest growing city in all of Europe). Our prayers and support will assist the Bradfords in this venture.
  • Searchlight Ministries (Bruce Garrison) has many requests to translate classical devotional materials into languages where little Christian literature is available.
  • In 2009 the Bradfords will be planting a new church in and around the City of Paris.
